Plein Air Tuscany!
September 9 -16, 2017

Join me for my 3rd Annual Plein Air Tuscany workshop in the beautiful hills of Chianti outside of Florence!…Eat, Drink, and Live like an Italian as you become a better outdoor painter!

Note: If you register by July 15th you will get the Early Bird Discount!

Here is a short video of this workshop to share what you will do, where you will go, and what you will paint. 2014 and 2015 were great, and 2017 will be even better!...

We will start the week together by painting on the grounds of our comfortable 18th century villa, reviewing the essentials of outdoor painting. There are beautiful views off the hill, cunning farmhouse architecture, and quaint little vignettes everywhere on the grounds. The next morning we will travel to the ancient hill town of Certaldo Alto to paint, and the next day set up in the well-known town of San Gimignano. (Known as the 'Medieval Manhattan' of Tuscany due to its tall stone towers.) Later in the week we will take a day trip into Florence by train, where I will present an entertaining and informative tour of the superb, yet little-known 19th & 20th century Italian Macchiaioli painters who hang in the Palazzo Pitti. (The ancestral home of the Medici family). While in Florence, you may also break away from the group to visit the Uffizi Gallery to enjoy the Florentine masterpieces of the Pre- and High- Renaissance, if you wish, have lunch, or paint in the winding streets of Oltrano. Then, back to the villa for more painting the rest of the week, in and around the countryside...

(Costs, lodging, logistics, and instruction)

If you have additional questions after reading my FAQ, or are ready to register, just send me an email, click here to send me an email.

But hey, don't wait! Seats are limited. Registration is now open and folks are signing up. A wait list will be started once it fills. This will be an amazing painting trip you will treasure the rest of your life!…

Scottsdale Artists' School:
From Field to Studio
December 2018 dates to be announce in July

This winter, when it is cold and wet, pack your paints and come to the Southwest where you can learn how to go from small to BIG with your art! This popular five day outdoor/indoor class will focus on how to collect useful information in the field – by painting, sketching, and taking photographs in the field – and then how to use those references to produce larger works in the comfort of your studio. We will start by spending two days in the Tonto Forest. I will then spend one day at the SAS creating a large painting, demonstrating various techniques and answering your questions. Then, you will have two days to complete a large painting yourself in the SAS studio with personal assistance!

Registration will open online at the Scottsdale Artists' School mid-June. This class will fill quickly so watch this space! Or, subscribe to my Early Bird Workshop Notification List and get a reminder (see below)

And finally...

If you would like to hear about all my workshops before the general public, and receive special offers and discounts on select classes, then subscribe to my Early Bird Workshop Notification List. Then you won't miss out on any of the fun!

Sure wish you'd firm up a date at the Atlanta Artist Center and I would be there in a minute. L admire your strong composition and daring color in the rose painting. Incidentally Atlanta is in Georgia!!!
Best regards,
Carol Frederick

Hello Carol.

Actually I have set 2017 dates for a workshop in Atlanta with the Atlanta Artist Center. I don't know why you haven't been informed about it yet. The dates are March 30 - April 1st. Why don't you get in touch with them and let them know you want to sign up? Let me know if there are any other issues.

Thanks T

Hello Terry, thank you for checking in about my workshops or demos. Unfortunately I am not offering any instruction during the two weeks you will be in Oregon but if you want to be informed of all my teaching please subscribe to my Early Bird Workshop Notification list. You can click the little bird on the upper right corner of this page or click this link here: https://confirmsubscription.com/h/r/C36BA0C1EDB71847

That way you be notified whenever I am teaching and even receive additional incentives for early sign up.

I'll also update this page too in the next few days because it is woefully out of date. I already have three of classes set for early 2017 and Spring as well. And more to be included later once the dates are established...
