This first article draws connections between painting and musical compositional motifs in the hope that understanding how they relate will stimulate you to become more creative with your own work, especially as you are listening to your favorite music. I wrote it for everyone – not just for painters who may be musically inclined – for anyone who enjoys painting to music.
